Wednesday Jun 15th, 2016
Mayor Rawlings-Blake joined Denise Turner Roth of the United States General Services Administration (GSA) and Nate Loewentheil, a senior policy advisor at the National Economic Council and head of the President’s Task Force for Baltimore to announce the sale of the former Social Security Administration Metro West Complex in downtown Baltimore.
GSA recently sold the 1.1 million-square foot facility for more than $7 million through a surplus property auction. GSA is committed to disposal of underutilized real estate to help promote economic development within cities and communities, while getting the best value for American taxpayers.
The sale of this facility builds on the Obama Administration’s continued commitment to invest in Baltimore, including the support of workforce, infrastructure and public health programs.
